Checking the garden

Our garden is not fairing too well this summer but we have picked a few things. Kyra and Daddy check out the squash.

Kyra had to see if the tomatos were green or red.

Our Week Away = Part 3

We picked blueberries.

Maggie ate more than she picked.

Then Popie treated us to two - 9 lb lobsters...yum! Kyra had to touch them and check them out. When it came time to eat, she just licked the butter off the lobster and put the lobster back on the plate. Definately doesn't take after me!

Our Week Away = Part 2

We all headed out on Popie's boat for a day at the beach. Kyra and Maggie played on the hammock at the marina while Popie got the boat ready.

Kyra helped Popie drive the boat.

Kyra carried around a dead crab and some shells for most of the day and was terrified of the seaweed.

Our Week Away = Part 1

Kyra and I hit the road, heading north, to visit Auntie, Diddy and Baby Maggie for three days. Kyra and Maggie had lots of fun together. Kyra had to hold her baby cousin, who isn't a baby anymore despite the lack of hair and teeth.

Then we hit the road, heading south, to visit Grammie and Poppie for four days. Auntie and Maggie came too. Those pictures still to come.

Our week

Another hot and busy week. Kyra went blueberry and raspberry picking...

Got a hair cut....

Swam alot..... She is like a fish with no fear. She will jump right off the diving board.

Got really tired and took a 4+ hour nap which is a rarity and was not that great because it lasted until 7:45 PM which meant she didn't end up falling asleep at night until 1:15 AM!!!

Todd and I also spent time last Saturday at a BBQ while Kyra was with Grammie and Poppie. Here is "Big D", winner of an emmy for a story he did. We are very proud of you Big D and love you lots! (Even Todd said so... well, not really, but you know he means it)

A night at the library for a musical performance

We took Kyra to our library for the musical performance by Tom Hanford. Her friends from the beach met us there and they had a good time. Notice all of the kids (Anthony, Alex, Kyra and Caroline with Ben in the back) focused on the performance.

Kyra and Anthony were chosen to play the part of the dogs in one of the songs. The headpiece was WAY to big for Kyra and it won't really stay on so her part only lasted a minute or so.

Kyra and Alex play at the "phewty". Any time I suggest the library, Kyra automatically says "so I can play on the phewty". During the performance, Kyra said "if I'm a good girl, I can play on the phewty after the show".

Swim class

We started swim classes this week at a different lake (this one isn't so nice and is more pond-like). Kyra's friend Anthony is in the class but Kyra seems to be more interested in playing in the sand. Not sure how long this will last but the teachers are great.

Kyra is swimming very well in a pool with her swimmies on. She says she can swim all by herself.
