The new doo

Kyra agreed that today would be the day we get our hair cut, so off we went. The ends of her hair were pretty dry, blonde and damaged from the sun. They were also impossible to comb even with tons of conditioner so I asked the hair dresser to chop it all off. Kyra poses while painting.
Last night (with her longer hair), she was Daddy's girl.

The first day of preschool

Today was Kyra's first day of preschool. She woke up at 6 am and wanted to know if it was time to go to school yet. (When she went to bed, she said she didn't want to go, so this was new). She proceeded to say she was all done sleeping, took off all of her clothes and said it was time to get dressed for school. Unfortunately, she doesn't have to be at school until 12:20 so it was a long day! She was very excited when we pulled into school and she saw some of her friend's mother's cars. She couldn't wait to get out of the car!
When we walked in, she hammed it up, saying cheese. Very different from the pictures taken at home where her bookback was over her face as she screamed "I don't want any pictures".

Kyra found her name tag....
Hung up her book bag...
And didn't cry when I left!! Hopefully we are off to a good start!

Visiting in CT

Last weekend, Kyra and I went to CT to visit with Grammie and Poppie since Great Grandma and Great Grandpa were also in town. Poppie took Kyra to Castle Craig. Kyra isn't much into fairytales yet and when we got to the top, she wanted to know when we were going to see the castle.

Kyra helped Great Grandpa play his card games.
Then she cruised around in her Silverado. She can't steer very well so she just smashes into trees, fences or whatever stands in her way.

Maggie's visit

Auntie and Maggie came to visit us and go to the fair with us. The girls loved looking at all of the animals. Kyra was so excited to drive the dump truck, just like Daddy. She said it was her favorite ride.
Kyra and Maggie bobbed for ducks and won balls.
Maggie went on her first tea cup ride.Kyra and I sat in another cup. It was kiddie size and Mommy's legs were too big for others to join our cup. She got so excited when I made it spin around. Mommy on the other hand was feeling a little sick....boy am I getting old.Back home the girls played in the big red car.

Hanging out with the Mercy Gals

On Saturday, Kyra and I headed to CT to attend Carrie's baby shower. Kyra was invited and I pumped her up that it was very special to be invited to the "big lady" party. (Term I use that refers to when mommy is going out with other mommies and NO kids or husbands) She was very excited to go to the party and wore her party dress. We had to stop 3 times to make potty breaks which made the 2 hour ride become 3 hours.Hard to believe we have known each other for 20 years now (doesn't feel like we are that old!). I think the last picture I have with this group in it was back in 2005 at Carrie's wedding. It was great to see all of you, let's do it again soon. (Maybe we can house warm at Traska's new place)
Safe travels back and can't wait to see pictures of Baby Carrie or Roger. (I won't post your nickname on the blog)

A day at the play

Today Kyra and I met up with many of her friends at the local theatre to see a performance of the Little Mermaid. Kyra was very excited to get all dressed up and wear her new shoes.

Family Fun Day

Kyra and I were actually in town this weekend so we took Daddy to our favorite picking place where we picked strawberries, blueberries and a pepper.
